Thing #17
All I can say is, "huh?" I don't understand how to actually use Rollyo. I understand the concept of creating your own search engine and I even created my own account and added some other folks' searchrolls into mine, but I can not figure out how to actually use them or how to link this to my blog. I am so confused. I searched other people's blogs to see what they did fot this posting but am still at a loss...any ideas?

The beauty of creating a Rollyo is that you can limit how students are searching. For example, instead of students going to Google or another search engine and coming up with hundreds of thousands of search results, most of which you wouldn't want them to use, a teacher can pre-select web sites that she wants students to use in reseach and create a Rollyo. This way when they search through the Rollyo, the teacher is sure they are going to find information she pre-selected. I don't know how well young students would be able to use it, I see it more for older students. However, I think teachers could use them. You could create one for your team that has only your favorite Kindergarten based websites. Then when you are searching for something, you will only be looking in all your favorite websites and you won't have to sift through lots of search results.
